what this is
We’re building things of our own and we want a lot from our work and our lives. But we’re human, and we struggle with the same shit anyone does. Regulars is a small group of people building real things, who’d rather be honest about that than perform success at each other.
It started for the right reasons. This page exists so it stays that way.
why it exists
Good people, good life. Something you’re passionate about doing each day. That’s most of it. The rest is clarity, and learning from others, and enjoying life more by figuring out how to make the most of it, together, out loud, without the mask on.
It is not a business opportunity thing. That may be a benefit. It is never the point. The day it reads as a networking club, we’ve lost it.
who it’s for
There’s a floor. You’re building something that’s genuinely yours, with real skin in the game. But the floor is low on purpose, because it matters to help people on the come up. Broke and all-in clears it. Coasting and comfortable doesn’t.
Past the floor, the criteria is deeper than money. We’re looking for someone who can speak honestly without turning it into a performance; who shows up, listens properly, and helps without keeping score.
who it’s not for
Status-chasers. Name-droppers. People who pitch in the room. Anyone whose first question is what they can get out of it. One of those poisons a group this size, so this is the line we hold hardest.
how you get in
You get in one way: someone already here brings you. Nomination only. No applications, no inbound, no reaching out, because the moment people can apply you get applicants, people who found you, who want something, who arrived with an answer ready. That’s the wrong filter.
Then you have a drink with two existing members. The one question we’re really listening for is: what’s actually hard right now? A humblebrag is a no. An honest answer means they already get it.
Both have to say yes. One no is a no, no explanation and no appeal. Whoever vouches carries the standard, and that’s what keeps the door open to genuinely new people instead of it quietly becoming our mates’ group chat.
what doesn’t move
Everything above is who we are. This is what we don’t let ourselves undo, written now, while it costs nothing. These three can only change if every current member agrees. Not most of us. One no is a no.
Regulars is free, and it stays free. No fees, no tiers, no sponsors, nothing sold to each other or to anyone else.
Founders get no special status. One vote each, the same as everyone. Founders can be removed like anyone. Nobody here is the main character.
There’s a door out, not just a door in. If someone’s quietly corroding it, always half-selling, always performing, two members can raise it. A quiet word first. If nothing changes, everyone else votes, and two-thirds is enough for them to leave.
what grows
Casual at the start: meet-ups, drinks, the ordinary days. Later maybe trips, maybe more. It grows into whatever the regulars need it to be, and no faster. But some things don’t grow. The three above are the exception, and they only ever change the hard way.
in the room
People first. No pitching. We’re regulars. Just people who show up.
Changing any of this should feel hard. That’s the point.
